Working With Us

Before Work Checklist

Having work completed in your home can be a disruptive process. We want to ensure that the work completed by our tradesmen is done as efficiently as possible. Here are a few things that need to be completed by the time that they arrive:

Clear the room

The room that is worked on needs to be completely clear of all items. We understand that there may be some pieces that you have difficulty moving. Our team will be happy to help with moving larger items, but this needs to be pre-agreed and we do not accept any liability for any damage to the movement of your furniture. Although we do provide dust sheets to protect floors and amenities that can not be removed, we do not accept any liability for any damage.

Ensure access

Our tradesmen will arrive in vans. They will have materials and heavy pieces of equipment to transport into your property. Therefore it is important that there is clear access to the property and appropriate parking. If there is not then please advise on the time of quotation the most appropriate place to park, as we may need to make arrangements for additional equipment to transport goods.

If your quotation includes a skip please ensure that vehicles are off the driveway prior to the tradesmen's arrival. If the skip cannot go on to the drive, we can arrange for a road permit - but please note this has an additional cost.

On-site requirements

The tradesmen will require access to electricity - a plug source. They will require access to water. They will require access to toilet facilities. If any of these things can not be provided please advise at the time of quotation and alternative provisions can be made.

Estimates & Payments.

Quotations

Quotations that are provided to you are based on the understanding of the job at hand and based on the discussion had between HBS Ltd and yourself on the first inspection. Please review your quotation in detail, as this will list all work to be completed by the tradesmen. If it is not written in your quotation then it is not included in the work to be completed.

Sometimes there are unforeseen circumstances, for example, damp, or rotting timber that cannot be seen at face value. Our quotations do not allow for unforeseen circumstances, but should this arise you will be notified immediately and the total costing surrounding that work will need to be reviewed.

Quotations are valid for 10 working days from the date of submission. If the work is asked to be taken on after a period of time, an additional inspection will be required and the quotation will be resubmitted.

At the time of quotation, you will be provided with a breakdown of payments to ensure that this is affordable for you. Should any payment be delayed then the work will be stopped immediately.

On-Site

Our tradesmen will arrive on-site at the agreed time (this will be given in a 1 hour time allowance slot). We will contact you via phone the day prior to arrival to ensure that everything is in place and to answer any last-minute questions.

The work will then begin, as per our pre-arrival checklist, please ensure rooms are clear and there is access available for deliveries and tradesmen.

We will be on a schedule so you do not have to worry about work being completed. If you see anything you are unsure about, we encourage you to write a list. On the final day of the project, we will do a walk around of the room and will create a 'snag list' of any things you have noticed. We will not leave until you are completely happy.

Please note we will not do any additional work/requests that move outside of the agreed workload. If you do want additional work to be completed we will require you to accept a digital quotation first.

Once work is completed.

You will receive an invoice for the work completed within 72 hours. On receipt of your invoice, we require payment within 5 days. Payment details can be either via bank transfer or cash. HBS Ltd. does not accept cheques or card payments as a method of payment.

Bank transfer - please ensure that you put your quotation number as the reference on your bank transfer.

Cash - If cash is your preferred method of payment then we will require the full payment on the final day on-site.

You will receive a receipt for any payments you have made via email. If you do not have an email address this can be provided as a paper version.

Any appropriate guarantees will be sent to you upon payment.
